Hi, my name is Nick Shanny, and I am a retired software developer and entrepreneur. I have been involved with computers since I was a young teenager. My first language was Z-80 assembly language, which landed me my first job.

I attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, studying Computer Science. I never completed college, being far more interested in working with computers.

I have had many jobs throughout my career, including Microsoft, Centerline Software, TripAdvisor, and CarGurus. I co-founded TripAdvisor, working there on and off for almost 20 years.

After retirement, I continued with my passion for automobile racing. I am racing in the SRO series, driving a Toyota Supra GT4.

I am married to Kay Shanny, and with her, we have three sons: Ryan, Brendan, and Liam.
